Shawnigan Christian Preschool

Preschool Philosophy

The Shawnigan Christian Preschool bases its beliefs and values on a relationship with a loving God.  Our care and commitment to the family is demonstrated with a sound preschool education that models and teaches God's love.  Play is an important part of the child's development.  Learning occurs when children are interested, involved in, practice, and can relate experiences to their immediate world.  Therefore children need a carefully planned environment in which to explore and play.

We offer an environment that provides:

  • loving and consistent care
  • a balanced curriculum that helps your child gain confidence in a group setting
  • opportunities to embrace, demonstrate and encourage expression of values such as respect, concern for others, thankfulness and concern for the environment and the community
  • opportunity to learn Biblical values expressed through creative stories, drama and a variety of music and songs
  • opportunities to explore a wide range of stimulating materials and creatively enriching activities
  • a variety of play centers that foster spiritual, social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional growth

Our teachers recognize the needs of a family and are committed to working with parents/guardians to foster a positive preschool experience.  We not only welcome a child into our program, we welcome a family.

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you lie down and when you get up."

Deuteronomy 6:4-7
